We are fortunate that within the team there is a wide range of expertise in associated fields which include mental health, young people, the criminal justice system and benefits and grants. Our role is split into 2 areas: Resettlement is linked to the new Compass Centre and we will be assisting with service users who are accessing Intensive Support Beds. Currently this project is in the latter stages of planning but it is exciting to be involved in a new dynamic homeless project in Bristol. Tenancy Sustainment involves assisting service users to set up and maintain their properties and involves offering a range of services. These include accessing grants for furnishings, referrals to local specialist agencies and encouraging engagement with meaningful occupations. However, the primary role is to give as much help as possible to ensure that the risk of eviction or abandonment of property is minimised. We accept referrals from other agencies along with self referrals but must stress we only work with single people and not families. It is extremely rare for us to have a waiting list as we firmly believe that this work requires a rapid response to service users. We are particularly grateful to all the agencies we work with as it is their input that allows us to provide an extensive and holistic service.
