When donating an item we ask that you look at your item and say to yourself 'Would I pick this item to buy from a second hand furniture shop?' or 'Is the items in a resalable condition?’. We can only take items that are in a resalable condition because we do not have the facilities to repair or clean any items.

With each booking we say that the driver always has the final say on all items being offered as they get to see the overall condition on the day of collection. We do not guarantee to take all items that are being offered.

We can only make a booking for a collection as long an essential item is being donated e.g. sofa, bed, cooker etc. At the moment we are not able to make collections for non-essential items on their own.

Soft furnishings

With all soft furnishings they need to be in a good clean condition without any rips, stains or any structural damage and they must have the original fire safety label attached.

With Sofas, sofa beds, futon or any chairs with padding the fire safety label must have the wording 'Carelessness causes fire’

With beds the fire label is different - it is a small blue label with a match or flame symbol.

Wooden furniture

Due to restricted space on vans, in our shops and customer homes we are not able to take items that are over 6’ high and 4’ wide.

With flat pack furniture or items that have been dismantled, unfortunately we do not have the facilities to reassemble items and for healthy and safety rules and regulations we are unable to collect such items.

Electrical items

Please note we are unable to collect the following items:

  • Gas appliances
  • Kettles
  • Deep Fat Fryer
  • Irons
  • Lamps
  • Electrical Fires

We do accept DVD and Video players but they need to have the original remote controls.

With any refrigeration and TV’s we do charge to take these items because they are classed as hazardous waste by the EU laws. This charge will help towards the cost of safety checks we have to carry out and for potential disposal.

The charges are, Refrigeration = £10 each and TV’s = £5 each.
