Frequently Asked Questions
IS SOFA PROJECT A CHARITY?
SOFA Project is a charity, social enterprise, and a company limited by guarantee.
ARE THERE CHARGES FOR COLLECTIONS?
All household collections are free provided they meet the criteria outlined within our collections section. The exception to this is for fridges and freezers for which a £30 charge applies to meet the potential cost of recycling if, on testing, the item is found to be unfit for resale.
ARE THERE CHARGES FOR DELIVERING ITEMS?
Bath: BA1, BA2
Please read the terms and conditions carefully to note that additional charges can be applied should you fail to be home on the agreed day of delivery.
WHAT PAYMENT OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE IN SOFA PROJECT SHOPS?
We welcome payment by debit cards, credit cards or cash. We do not accept cheques. We will also accept vouchers from other charities.
CAN I BRING ITEMS TO YOU?
Items can be dropped off to our West street store. Our Days Lane warehouse can only take large electrical items; we do not take small electrical items such as toasters, microwaves, hoovers etc.
WILL YOUR DRIVER TAKE EVERYTHING?
When you call our call centre to book a collection we will book in items that meet our criteria but that is not a guarantee that we will take everything; we always say that our driver is our ‘eyes’ because he sees the condition of the items when he arrives. If our driver feels that the items are not in an acceptable condition then it will be explained to you at the time of collection.
WHY ARE YOU NOT ABLE TO GIVE ME A TIME FOR MY COLLECTION/DELIVERY?
We are not able to give a specific time for your collection/delivery as we cover a large area, have many bookings each day and also because of traffic volumes. Unfortunately we are not able to say where our driver will be at a specific time of each day.
WHAT IF I AM NOT ABLE TO BE AT HOME ON THE DATE OF MY COLLECTION?
We can only make collections if there is someone present.
WHAT IF MY ITEM WILL NEED TO BE DISMANTLED?
Due to small components and storage/ display of items in our shop we are not able to take items that have been dismantled.
WHERE CAN I GO TO PURCHASE ITEMS?
